One of my favorite things to do with shibori is to use things that are not so expected- like paint stirrers!  This pattern is so much fun and looks really sophisticated!  I love the way it makes a jagged abstract stripe down the middle.  I made this pillow from a linen- but if you want to dye a ready made pillow, you can check out the link above in the supply list.  It's 100% cotton and is great for pre reduced indigo.

MODERN TIE DYE STARBURST TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL

I've been playing with a lot of tie dye lately.  I wanted to incorporate traditional shibori techniques with modern colors and tie dye.  So i decided to do a kumo shiobori tie and use my arctic waters tie dye kit as the dye.  It's a departure from the usual indigo and it's fun to branch out colorwise.  The kit is available here:

INDIGO TIE DYE SHIBORI BABY ONESIES TUTORIAL

I made these baby onesies for my cousins who have new babies.  I come from a big family so there are lots of opportunities for me to make new styles of baby onesies. I tried something different and dyed a light blue onesie.  I think it turned out really cute!

Pole Wrap Shibori- Arashi Variation

This pattern is really fun and very organic.  This is a take on Arashi Shibori.  Usually Arashi is a lot more neat and tidy, but I went with a more imperfect wrap.  This pattern reminds me of a geode or agate.

Itajime Shibori Tutorial- Equilateral Triangle

This is one of my favorite patterns hands down! It's modern and geometric.  You can make it more white or more blue depending on the size of the fold.  I did this one with mostly white- I think it looks very understated and delicate.  Click for Supply List.

Denim Dress Upcycle Shibori Tutorial

Do you have a piece of clothing or two that you love and have thought about throwing out, but you can't because you love it too much?  This denim dress is a favorite and is past its prime.  It's faded a lot and has some stains on it.  I wanted to give it a new look in hopes that it can have some more life.
