DIAMOND SHIBORI TIE DYE PATTERN TUTORIAL

DIAMOND SHIBORI TIE DYE PATTERN TUTORIAL

This diamond pattern is really very simple to make with shibori folding techniques and an indigo vat.  I folded into the quarters and then accordion style on the diagonal.  Check out the video for the visuals.  I tied them up with paint sticks and string.  Then I dipped them in my indigo vat.  I'm using pre reduced indigo.  I have a kit available on my site for sale Indigo Kit
tie dye pattern modern colors

TIE DYE WITH MODERN COLORS

I'm so excited to launch my Modern Tie Dye Kits.  They are so fun and fresh.  Each kit comes with dyes, 3 things to dye, supplies to tie everything up and a free tutorial video.  You will get enough dye to tie dye more than what's in the kit, so if you have some extra t-shirts or totebags you can tie them up too.  What's your favorite colorway?  I love them all but mine is Desert Sunset. :) Here's my latest video of the reveals.

marble dyeing on fabric tie dye and shaving cream

MARBLING TIE DYE TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL

I've been wanting to try marble dyeing for quite some time. I had some left over dye from my modern colors tie dye kit- click link to see.  So I broke out the shaving cream and got to work!  I love the way it turned out and can't wait to try it again.

semi circle tie dye shibori t shirt

SEMI CIRCLE TIE DYE SHIBORI TSHIRT UPCYCLE

One of my favorite things to do with dyeing is to upcycle clothes that are stained or a little worn.  Dyeing them brings new life and makes them look new.  I did a semi circle pattern for this one and it turned out really great.

JACQUARD CYANOTYPE KIT UNBOXING

I have been doing my research and my jacquard cyanotype kit is here. It's a chemical process that involves mixing two chemicals together and then letting them be exposed to the sun. This video goes over the instructions and my initial reaction to opening the product. I'm a big fan of jacquard products in general and I'm so excited to get to do some cyanotype.

tie dye with indigo- nail head shibori tutorial

Nail Head Shibori Indigo Dyeing Tutorial

This is a really fun pattern to make.  It can be as difficult as you want it to be and as easy as you want it to be.  You can make the nails very close together or farther apart.  I made my nails between 2-3 inches apart.  I made sure to tie the string around the nail head very tightly and wrapped around the nail head multiple times before tying it off.  I did this for each nail until I covered the entire piece.  I recommend doing this while watching your favorite show or movie.
