Do you have a piece of clothing or two that you love and have thought about throwing out, but you can't because you love it too much?  This denim dress is a favorite and is past its prime.  It's faded a lot and has some stains on it.  I wanted to give it a new look in hopes that it can have some more life. 

I decided to shibori dye it with indigo of course!  I chose the nail burrito technique because it's a vertical stripe and I think it's very flattering.  Check out the photos and the video for the step by step information.  


Cellulose Fiber to dye- Pre washed I'm using a chambray dress in the video 

If you prefer to use an indigo kit this is a good one- 

-Jacquard Indigo Kit:

Indigo ingredients for a 2x2x1 vat

- Pre-reduced indigo-

-Soda Ash- Sodium Carbonate-


-Bucket 3-5 Gallons-

-Galvanized Nails-

-Rubber Bands-

-Drop Cloth


-Synthrapol- dyers' detergent-
