I'm so excited to launch my Modern Tie Dye Kits. They are so fun and fresh. Each kit comes with dyes, 3 things to dye, supplies to tie everything up and a free tutorial video. You will get enough dye to tie dye more than what's in the kit, so if you have some extra t-shirts or totebags you can tie them up too. What's your favorite colorway? I was so excited when I was asked to make this large scale wall hanging! My friend bought an apartment and wanted a big shibori piece for her living room. I was given a lot of artistic freedom, which was so awesome! I was honored that she asked me and I was excited to do some quilting!

Nail Head Shibori Indigo Dyeing Tutorial

This is a really fun pattern to make. It can be as difficult as you want it to be and as easy as you want it to be. You can make the nails very close together or farther apart. I made my nails between 2-3 inches apart. I made sure to tie the string around the nail head very tightly and wrapped around the nail head multiple times before tying it off. I did this for each nail until I covered the entire piece. I recommend doing this while watching your favorite show or movie.

Ink Blot Pattern-Easy Stitched Shibori Pattern

It's a fun pattern to do and also makes a great conversation starter on your couch! What do you see?

The technique is fairly simple as far as a stitched shibori pattern goes. Accordion fold the piece to the desired width and then tack the edge with repetitive stitching. Watch the video for a visual.

Denim Scrap Patchwork Pillow Tutorial for Fabrscrap

I sewed all the scraps together in strip patterns and then arranged them in a pleasing composition. I played for a while with the color blocks of light and dark shades making sure that the led the eye around the whole pillow. There's no wrong way to do it, but I think the composition is my favorite element of the "crazy quilt".

I pinned them down on a 21x21" piece of dark wash denim and then stitched them down like an applique. I've included some photos of my process here. I also taught a workshop for FABSCRAP on how to make it. I've uploaded the class video on my YouTube channel.
