tie dye shirt tutorial series- criss cross pattern

I love this tie dye pattern- it's very cool looking but is very easy to get.  This pattern was made with folding and rubber bands.  The criss cross pattern looks good in multiple colors or single colors too.  I've used dark blue teal, light blue, and a coral for this pattern.

Supplies:

100% cotton tshirt

Rubber bands

Procion Dyes- you can use a tie dye kit, or mix your own procion dyes

Soda ash

Bucket

Cling Wrap

Scissors

Drop Cloth

Dawn

After following the folding instructions in the video mix up 1-2 gallon of water with 2/3 cup soda ash and let it soak for 20 minutes.  Then apply the dye and wrap in cling wrap to let it batch for 6-8 hours.  After it sits over night you can unwrap and rinse until the water runs clear and wash on hot with dawn dishwashing detergent.
